If you distill a wedding down to a ceremony and reception, a typical wedding might last just six hours. After months—or maybe even years—of fittings, tastings, phone calls, walkthroughs, and checks written, a day known for being one of the most foundational of your life can slip by before you’ve had a moment to catch your breath.
Ceremony. Photographs. Cocktail hour. Dinner. Toasts. Dancing. A grand exit.
Whether your guests are traveling from out of town or your list is primarily local, the time couples actually have to spend with the people they love—and to truly carve out this moment in time together—can be quite limited.
Your wedding, no matter the guest count, is more than just one day. It is an experience.
As a luxury, intimate wedding venue in Versailles, Kentucky, Rose Hill Inn believes that some of the most treasured moments of a wedding celebration happen before and after the ceremony—not only during it. The difference between simply getting through one of the most special days of your life and truly savoring it often comes down to something simple: giving your celebration more time to unfold.

A Wedding Weekend Gives You More Time With the People You Love
A wedding is many things. It’s the day you and your partner have chosen to make vows in front of the people you value most. It’s also a rare chance to bring together family, college friends, childhood best friends, and loved ones who might otherwise never be in the same place at the same time.
When all of those people come together to celebrate you as a couple, that gathering deserves enough time for everyone to actually connect—not just pass each other during a receiving line.
A wedding weekend makes that possible. Rather than trying to schedule every meaningful interaction into a six-hour window, you and your guests simply have time to be together.
The Best Wedding Memories Often Happen Outside the Ceremony
A wedding ceremony is a moment that stands still, and it’s one of the reasons “wedding” and “ceremony” are almost synonymous in most people’s minds. That moment should never be minimized—it’s one of the most important parts of your celebration.
But the in-between moments shouldn’t be overlooked either.
A wedding weekend creates space for the small moments that might not happen at all if the day were moving too fast: guests arriving and settling in together, laughter over champagne on the veranda, friends waking up to coffee and breakfast on the morning of the wedding, tearful moments between hair and makeup, handwritten letters, and the exchange of family heirlooms.
Choosing a venue that gives you and your guests a home base for more than just one day is often the difference between checking off boxes and truly savoring your time together. Your ceremony is the reason your guests gather—but the in-between moments are often where the memories are made.

More Time Means a More Relaxed Wedding Day
A wedding day at a typical single-day venue can mean setting up, getting hair and makeup done, VIP family members running in and out to oversee vendors, multiple shuttle rides, rushing into a gown for bridal portraits, sitting in traffic, saying “I do,” possibly traveling to a second venue for the reception, and then packing everything up and carting it away—all in the same day.
At Rose Hill Inn, our couples and their guests arrive before the wedding and stay through the morning after. You can unpack, say hello, and grab a glass of champagne before the rehearsal even begins. There’s time to visit with overnight guests before the wedding day, so everyone settles in and enjoys the anticipation rather than just showing up for the finish line.
We design our weekends so that when the wedding day arrives, our couples and their overnight guests are rested, nourished, and ready—not running on adrenaline alone.
An Intimate Guest Count Creates a More Luxurious Experience
Rose Hill Inn hosts weddings of 75 guests and under, and we built our venue around that number on purpose. A smaller guest count doesn’t mean a smaller experience—in many ways, it creates the opportunity for a more personal, immersive, and luxurious one.
Our couples spend real, unhurried time with each of their guests. They are able to offer elevated food and beverage experiences, and to build even the smallest details—a handwritten place card, a specific song for a specific dance—into the celebration in a way that simply isn’t possible at a 200-person wedding.
The result is a celebration that feels less like a single event and more like an experience: thoughtfully designed, personally hosted, and genuinely remembered.
Your Wedding Venue Should Feel Like Part of the Experience
A wedding weekend is best experienced when your venue offers more than just a ceremony and reception site. It should feel hospitable and private—the kind of place that makes guests want to linger. Especially in these timeless luxury suites.
Rose Hill Inn is a historic luxury inn and intimate wedding venue in Versailles, Kentucky, built for wedding weekends that feel personal, not transactional.
Every Rose Hill couple’s weekend looks a little different within their chosen package. Some extend their celebration with additional days. Others host a Friday welcome reception with sprawling charcuterie, or gather again Sunday morning for a send-off brunch. However it’s built, our team is there throughout to provide the hospitality and quiet support that let you and your guests actually enjoy the celebration—not manage it.

What a Rose Hill Weekend Could Look Like
Friday: Arrive and Unwind
You and your overnight guests arrive, unload, and settle in. After the rehearsal, catch up with old friends in our parlor or on the front porch. There’s time to make sure everything’s in place for tomorrow, relax into the excitement of the weekend, and get a genuinely restful night’s sleep.
Saturday: The Wedding Day
Overnight guests wake slowly to a fresh breakfast. The wedding party heads upstairs to our getting-ready area for a smooth, unrushed morning—belongings already unloaded and organized, no scrambling. There’s time to write letters to loved ones, go over vows, and simply take in the day. As photography begins, there’s no shortage of backdrops, from our gardens to the mansion’s historic details.
When the ceremony begins, your guests are already settled in with each other—feeling like old friends, anticipating the joy to come. Afterward, everyone gathers on the veranda and throughout the main house for cocktails before moving to the wedding tent to celebrate under the stars. After the reception overnight guests then return to their suites for a restful night.
Sunday: One More Morning Together
The celebration continues into breakfast the next morning, as you and your overnight guests relive favorite moments from the day before. Eventually, everyone says farewell—recharged and connected by an experience they’ll remember long after the weekend ends.
Give Yourself Time to Remember It
Your wedding day will always be special. Giving yourself more than one day to take it in gives you something equally valuable: time. Time to be present. Time to visit with the people closest to you. Time to feel the anticipation. Time to celebrate in a way you’ll actually remember.
A Rose Hill wedding weekend isn’t about adding more events or complicating your celebration—it’s the opposite. It’s about giving you and your guests the space to actually experience the wedding you’ve worked so hard to create.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wedding Weekends
How long should a wedding weekend be?
Most wedding weekend celebrations last three days: the rehearsal day (often including a welcome reception), the wedding day itself, and the morning after, which might include a send-off breakfast or simply a quiet morning together.
What is the benefit of an intimate wedding weekend?
An intimate wedding weekend—typically 75 guests or fewer—lets couples spend real, unhurried time with each guest while creating a more personal, elevated experience. A smaller guest count means more thoughtful hospitality, more meaningful connection, and more time to actually enjoy each part of the celebration.
What makes Rose Hill Inn different from a typical one-day wedding venue?
Rose Hill Inn is built around the wedding weekend, not just the wedding day. Where a typical venue hosts your ceremony and reception in a single afternoon, Rose Hill Inn gives couples and their overnight guests a home base for the full weekend—arrival and rehearsal on Friday, the wedding day on Saturday, and a shared morning together on Sunday. Paired with an intimate guest count of 75 and under, this creates a more relaxed, personal, and luxurious experience than a single-day celebration allows.
What’s included in a Rose Hill Inn wedding weekend package?
Our signature package, the Grand Estate Wedding Weekend, is a private, full-estate experience for up to 75 guests, starting at $10,500. It includes exclusive use of the property from Friday at 4 PM through Sunday at noon, two nights across our six historic suites, a private bridal getting-ready space, a 30×40 reception tent with lighting and sidewalls, wedding furniture (tables and chairs), event restrooms and a guest parking shuttle, a dedicated venue coordinator, and breakfast together on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. View the full Grand Estate Wedding Weekend package for complete details.
Is Rose Hill Inn only available for full-weekend bookings, or can couples book a single day?
The Grand Estate Wedding Weekend, our signature full-estate experience, runs Friday through Sunday. For couples who want the Rose Hill setting on a smaller scale, we also offer the Signature Micro-Wedding (up to 30 guests, two nights, select non-peak dates) and The Timeless Elopement (up to 15 guests, one night, available Sunday–Thursday and select non-peak dates year-round). Each option includes accommodations, so even our smallest celebrations are still an overnight stay at the Inn.
How far in advance should we book an intimate wedding weekend?
Most couples book their Rose Hill Inn wedding weekend 10 or more months in advance. We do have openings remaining for 2027, so early inquiries are encouraged, especially for peak-season dates.
